COMBAT HD 2023

Our World Cup Team Riders' sail of choice.

Combat Pro is the epitome of wave sail development. Power when you need it, neutral on the wave and built to withstand everything Mother Nature can throw at you.

Trusted by our team from Peahi to Pozo, Combat feels light in your hands yet provides power when you need it and will always perform, no matter the conditions.

HD construction is our most affordable construction. Featuring regular X-Ply and Radial HD 2.0 in key load areas of the sail which emulates the dynamic load distribution of Powerfuse but with a simpler, stitched construction in order to reduce construction cost.

Design Driven

INNOVATION

Designed and tested at our NeilPryde Maui Design Center by Robert Stroj, then further developed through our team riders' feedback from across the world. No stone is left uncovered in our relentless drive to be the best at what we do.

Radial HD 2.0

Radial HD clew and tack panels combine the load distributing and weight saving properties of Powerfuse in a more economical and even more bulletproof, stitched construction.

Radial HD construction uses overlapping materials at high load points (clew and tack) to bring the load distribution advantages and variable thickness strength to weight ratio found in Powerfuse to this less expensive, stitched construction. Each layer of X-Ply is overlaid in a radial pattern to create thick and extremely strong multiple layer pieces at the tack and clew which spread out into thin, light weight panels where less load is carried and strength is less critical, thus saving weight in these areas.

Radial HD panels are stitched together, creating our strong- est radial panels at our most affordable price point. This construction allows us to provide maximum strength in the highest load areas and minimum weight towards the centre of the sail where such strong material is not necessary.

TAFFETA LUFF PANEL

Rip-stop Taffeta X-Ply laminate luff panel combines excellent stitch holding properties with responsive elasticity which makes the sail softer and more forgiving than regular X-Ply but lighter and more responsive compared to Dacron.

This feature is shared with our Pro and Pro HD constructions.

01

Morgan Noireaux

The sail that I took with me all year to win the 2022 IWT Tour. Controlled power for jumping in Pistol River, light in my hands and strong enough to handle the power of Cloudbreak. Light and super maneuverable in Peru and Maui. Definitely my go-to sail in all conditions!

02

Robby Swift

This has been my sail of choice since we first re-introduced it in 2004. All the power I need to get going in tricky, onshore conditions. Stability and easy handling when extremely overpowered for jumping and light in my hands for down-the line riding. One sail that I can feel confident to take with me anywhere in the world.

Sail Features

Drive and Acceleration

Tight leech provides power for early planing and upwind performance.

Wide Wind Range

A large tuning range that allows the rider to trim the sail for all conditions, thanks to the combination of a pronounced luff curve in the boom area and a high outhaul tension that stabilizes the profile.

Stability

Wide batten layout spacing on the lower area that allows a softer and forgiving handling under powered up conditions. Tight batten layout spacing through the upper area that provides greater stability and lighter feeling.
