Robby Swift Takes 3rd in the Fiji Surf Pro
Congratulations to Robby Swift on finishing 3rd in the PWA/IWT 5 Star Fiji Surf Pro!
Some words from Robby:
Cloudbreak has been one of my dream waves since I was a little boy. I remember watching the Namotu PWA video over and over until the tape didn't work any more as a teenager.
Since then, I have seen Jason Polakow, Kai Lenny, Robby Naish and Marcilio Browne visit Cloudbreak for medium to giant swells and the wave always looks perfect.
Last year I was one of the people who were lucky enough to be the first to compete in an invitational windsurf event there, hosted by the IWT and that was the catalyst to the professional windsurfers on the PWA and the IWT getting together and forming the union that allowed this 5 star event to happen this year and have full counting points towards the 2023 world title.
Cloudbreak didn't disappoint. We had some of the best conditions ever seen in a windsurfing event. I couldn't have been happier with my gear. I used a 2024 pre-production JP 88L Ultimate Wave and my trusty 5.0 Combat in every heat. The wind was very light but the waves were absolutely insane and I had some of the most fun I have ever had on a windsurfer.
Add to that the amazing surfing days we had before and after and it truly was a dream trip.
Thanks to everyone involved in the organization of the event, and especially to Fiji Surf Co who did everything in their power to make sure we were completely taken care of, on and off the water!
