Double gold in Cold Hawaii for Anton, a 50-knot final in Scotland for Marino: two Neilpryde riders and loads of adrenaline
While the North Sea and the Atlantic turned the volume up to eleven, two of our riders answered with some of the best wave windsurfing of the season. One brought home Danish Open gold, the other charged all the way to the final of one of the sport’s most legendary events.
Anton Richter conquers Cold Hawaii
From 15 to 18 October, Cold Hawaii showed its stormy side at the Danish Open Wave and Freestyle Championship. A steady south-westerly and a solid North Sea swell set the stage in Klitmøller, and on Thursday the fleet got stuck into a competition marathon lasting around nine hours. After a lay day on Friday, the double elimination came to a head on Saturday.
Anton stayed sharp through it all. Powerful turns, high aerials and spectacular jumps carried him to victory in the top-flight Wave A division, ahead of Simon Thule and Mads Bjørnå. He also won the junior category, so it was double gold for Anton. 🥇🥇
The result fits his season. In September, Anton won the U21 wave title at the Cold Hawaii Youth World Cup in Hanstholm, in massive waves, which strengthened his lead in the overall World Tour standings. Cold Hawaii clearly suits him.

Marino Gil storms to second at the Tiree Wave Classic
Over in Scotland, the Tiree Wave Classic celebrated its 42nd anniversary and returned as a four-star World Cup for the first time since 2007. With around 75 riders on the start list and the legendary Tiree Sword on the line, the event went to the top names, and “Big Wednesday” delivered the show everyone had hoped for.
At Balevullin, offshore winds of 40 to 50 knots lashed across the island, with waves as high as the mast. Marino was in his element. He shone in the quarter-finals, eliminated Philip Köster on his way through, and reached the Winners’ Final. Second place in conditions like these, against a field like this, is a serious statement.
It also caps a strong season for Marino. He took the Spanish Wave Cup title at Pozo Izquierdo in July and reached his third consecutive Tenerife World Cup final in August, finishing third.
