VT-JOINT

The NeilPryde VT-Joint provides a stiff boom connection and a more responsive transmission of the sail’s power than any other system used in the market. VT-JOINT TRIM-LOCK ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM The Twin-Pin design provides ease of tail adjustment, optimal load distribution and a stiff connection between the boom body and tail end.

Key benefits:

> Increases contact area from the boom attachment to the mast.

> It can be used on any standard diameter mast.

> Reduces chance of point loading.

> Minimises ‘play’ between the boom and mast connection.

> Allows easy adjustment of boom height.

The mast cup provides 2 point of contact between the cup and the mast, creating s tight connection and a great transmission of power. The V-Shape accomodates variation in standard mast diameters. Slightly thinner masts simply sit further into the V while fatter ones sit lower down.

The VT-Joint is standard on all NeilPryde booms with an oversized mast cup material composition tailored to suit each boom type:

XA & XF – Glass fiber reinforced injection molding

XC – Forged carbon composite material

FORGED ALUMINUM HEAD

Pressure Flow Forging – a technology that allows for shaping of exceptionally stiff aluminum tubing. By applying this technology on all our XF booms, we have created the lightest, strongest and most rigid aluminum booms available on the market. This process increases the density of the aluminum and provides the ability to control wall thickness resulting in a far stronger head. Further, we chose to put the boom arms inside the head tube and this results in an outside diameter of the head being increased and bringing a further increase in rigidity and strength.
