Enrico World Number 3!!

Enrico World Number 3!!

Huge congratulations to Enrico Marotti on this amazing achievement.

For the 2nd time in his life, Enrico joined the elite top 3 in the Foil Slalom discipline of the PWA.

It was not an easy road for Enrico this year, he fought through a broken wrist at the start of the season and several heart-breaking crashes while leading semi finals and finals but he kept his cool through to the end of the last event and managed to end the year on a high, in 3rd place overall in the world.

Some words from Enrico about this achievement:

I am happy, really happy…

It's my second overall world tour podium and it mens a lot to me, to my personal beliefs. I believe doing it for second time is confirmation that the life time commitment I did, to succeed in something to be good at something had purpose. That’s why it means a lot to me.
It means lot because I have son who I hope one day will open YouTube and watch how his father raced, fought and gave his best. He will be able to watch videos, pictures and get a message that with passion, discipline, hard and smart work everything is possible!
I am happy because I am bringing one more world cup trophy to my home spot, to Volosko. To my friends with whom I sail and enjoy this beautiful sport.
I am happy because Nika will get one more house decoration which I know she adores the most and it's earned with a lot of her sweat and hard work too.
I must say massive thanks to my family and friends for being next to me all my career. I felt your support when I was finishing events 30-something and I feel it now! Thanks for that, that's amazing!

Also huge congratulations to the rest of our NeilPryde racing team. Maciek and Nico took 5th and 8th in the world this year, putting in solid performances all the way from Fuerte to Sylt and then again in Japan.

A special thanks and congratulations goes to Bruno Martini who showed incredible sportsmanship and team-work when Enrico suffered equipment failure before his heat in Japan and Bruno had the quick-thinking to realize that he could lend Enrico his sail in order to qualify for the next round and still make it back in time to compete in his own quarter final and qualify also for his own semi-final.
Bruno finished 13th in the world, with a 3rd in PWA Sylt and showed moments of brilliance throughout this foil season, so we are excited to see what the future will bring!
In the women's fleet, Bobbi-Lynn put on a solid performance and was able to end the year in 4th place overall in the Women's Foil Slalom discipline. Congratulations and we can't wait to see how you progress in the years of exciting racing to come!
That concludes the professional windsurfing season for all disciplines. We thank all of our riders, their support crews and the event and tour organizers for their dedicated work throughout the season and we will look forward to seeing you all again next year!
