I started windsurfing when I was 14 years old, became the British Youth Champion and turned professional at 19, travelling the world competing and working for the leading brands in research and development, where my test partner was often Robert Stroj, who went on to become the world's leading sail designer with Neil Pryde.
I was the British Youth Coach then National Racing Coach, but left competitive windsurfing at a young age to write travel features for the windsurfing press, travelling to many of the world's best wave spots- what a life!I then turned my skills to coaching the freeride windsurfers of the world and developed INtuition- the world's leading instruction. This is what I enjoy the most- working with guests from all over the place, teaching them to waterstart, gybe or wave sail and sharing their amazing successes and the joys of travel.
I married a bikini model (life's good!) and we have three gorgeous boys and live in the UK. But I still get to hang out with the coolest windsurfers- the freeriders- all over the world on my INtuition courses and get to go surfing or windsurfing whenever there's good swell.
The future looks good too. I think we're going to see fresh products and coaching for the freeride market, and attract more people to the worlds toughest, and coolest sport.
