RS:ONE CONVERTIBLE SAIL

The pathway to the next generation of Racing

The RS:One Convertible joins our one-design program as the lightweight, effortless foil and slalom sail. It was developed alongside the RS:X Convertible sail and offers an extreme direct power release control and the perfect balance between stability and lightness. The RS:One Convertible feels as light as a no-cam sail making it ideal for foiling. Getting into the gust is very easy thanks to reduced backhand pressure that maintains a stable flying height. When used with low outhaul tension it generates a lot of lift for early take-off. When used in over powered slalom conditions the RS:One Convertible will maintain great control keeping the board stable on the water. RS:One Convertible is the true pathway sail to high-performance one-design windsurfing racing.

Designer's Comment

The challenge was to design a sail that could equally perform in foiling and slalom conditions. This has been achieved through an extreme direct power release control and stable profile that offers clear advantages in both the foil mode and over-powered slalom conditions.

Features

INTEGRACAM

Fully integrated compact camber providing regular cam enducer profile support while keeping the soft rotation of a no-cam sail.

CLEAR POCKET BATTEN SLEEVE

Overlapping body panels create a sleeve for battens, eliminating the need for traditional, separate batten pockets. This saves on unnecessary weight, simplifies construction and creates a fully symmetrical batten cavity, eliminating the tendency of traditional batten pockets to load differently from one tack to another.

  • High aspect ratio and large foot concept
(inspired by the RS:X Convertible sail design) perfectly suited for foil boards while maintaining the needed foot clearance for slalom racing.

  • Component sleeve construction
featuring seamless luff glide leading edge combined with Tetron main sleeve section.

  • Custom laminated clew
for optimized strength and load distribution. It features internally laminated Kevlar strips that distribute loads in the clew area.

  • Extreme forward-oriented profile
with very light backhand pressure for good handling when foiling.

  • Tubular battens
used everywhere except in the foot for profile stability and reduced weight.

  • Loopster
(lower clew position) for easy rigging and minimum friction when used with adjustable outhaul system.
