FOILING

Foiling is gaining more and more traction amongst all kinds of water sports, e.g. windsurfing, surfing, SUPing, Wake surfing or Kitesurfing. Foiling is more and more in trend, from beginner to expert as well as across genders.

WHAT MAKES FOILING SO EXCITING

A foil will help to lift you above the water and let you float over it. But how is this possible?

We have visualized the physics behind foiling in the above graphic.

The specific shape of the wing has the effect that water travels faster over the top surface than the bottom one, similar to how airplane wings work. Physics dictates that the faster velocity over the top of the wing leads to a lower pressure.

Simultaneously, with higher pressure on the bottom surface of the wing, an upward force is produced, which in turn lifts the boat's hull out of the water.

Our foils are made of high pressure molded prepreg carbon or aluminum - what is the difference?

Carbon fibres will offer a much higher stiffness-to-weight ratio compared to aluminum.

It allows for reduced profile sizes, e.g. having a much thinner profile mast that further reduces drag while improving stiffness.

MODULAR FOIL SYSTEM

GLIDE HP is a fully modular system so you can expand your foil setup by simply adding new wings. Glide HP now offers a range of front wings from 1100cc all the way to 2300cc to cater for every level and size of foiler. Glide Wind comes with a longer fuselage and 85cm mast for windsurf foiling and Glide Surf comes with a shorter, more maneuverable fuselage and a shorter, 75cm mast to be able to access shallower breaks. Glide Suf Carbon comes with the shortest fuselage for maximum agility and is available in 75 or 85cm mast lengths.

FRONT WINGS

GLIDE wings are made of pre-preg carbon layup with inner foam construction for maximum durability to weight ratio. This setup creates a natural tendency to roll into turns maintaining a nice balance during your ride.

Through the sophistically developed design of the front wing, the Glide Foil HP range reaches an incredible top speed and maintains great maneuverability. On the wave, the Glide Surf allows you to fly through the sections and progress from straight riding to progressive foil-turns.

CONNECTION PLATES

CNC reinforced base construction.
Two deep titanium vertical tube connections to the mast for maximum strength, eliminating movement and offering perfect load transfer. Avoids vibration around the upper attachment area.
